There are few better ways to start a Saturday morning than lacing up your boots for some fresh countryside air, especially when there is a warm pub waiting for you at the end of it. The Monthly Pub Walk has become a firm favourite on the local calendar, offering a relaxed and friendly excuse to stretch your legs, discover scenic local footpaths, and chat with fellow walkers along the way.
Things kick off inside the pub from 9:30am, where you can fuel up on complimentary tea, coffee, and fresh pastries before heading out. The group sets off promptly at 10am for a guided circular route through the surrounding countryside. Four-legged companions are always more than welcome, so feel free to bring the dog along for the trek.
Given the unpredictable British weather, a sturdy pair of walking boots or wellies and a decent waterproof jacket are strongly recommended. The route will bring everyone back to the pub doors around 11:30am, perfectly timed to kick back by the bar with a well-earned pint or settle in for a hearty pub lunch.
Taking part in the walk is completely free, but you will need to reserve your spot ahead of time so the team knows how many pastries to pop in the oven. It is an easy, welcoming morning out that makes the most of our local green spaces.
